Five habits that keep them looking new

  1. Be careful for the first 48 hours

    Fresh bonding soaks up colour fast. Red wine, coffee, tea, curry, tomato sauce, smoking. If it would stain a white shirt, skip it for two days.

  2. Put the whitening strips down

    They won't touch your veneers. They will lighten the natural teeth around them and leave you with a mismatch.

  3. Check your toothpaste

    If it feels gritty, it's scouring. Look for the RDA number. If a brand won't tell you, that's your answer. Soft brush, light pressure.

  4. Get the edges

    Stains start at the gumline and where bonding meets your own tooth. Floss or interdental brushes, every day.

  5. See the hygienist

    Every six months. Tell them what you've had done so they use the right polish.
